Today was a good Tuesday. Whew. We're so apprehensive about Tuesday's.
First, the OB, and all went well there. Shelly's blood pressure was fantastic. There was no protein in her urine for the third week in a row! She's not dilated at all but Riley has dropped a little.
Next, NST. Again, all went well. Amniotic Fluid was good at 15. Shelly was having zero contractions. Riley did exactly what she needed to do and we were out of there in no time.
Next, Lawyer's office. All of our paper work is signed. Now we just wait for Riley to be born to file the papers and wait for our court date.
Next, Primary Children's to have the Car Seat installed. We're so glad we did this! She went over several things with us that we'd never have thought about. Now we have a Car Seat in our truck! Wow!!!
Finally, lunch. Yummy Salmon Tacos. Then home to do more chores. I don't think they'll ever end.
Shelly felt pretty good today. We had fun together and laughed A LOT! I think we almost sent her into labor because we were laughing so hard at one point. It's so nice to laugh on Tuesday instead of crying.
Riley's been super active. Shelly keeps telling me "Riley's trying to bust out again." She was a total wiggle worm during the NST. She's such a sassy a little girl. I can't wait to meet her!
Just 11 days to go!!!
Thank you all for your love, support, and well wishes. It means a lot to know there are so many people out there praying and sending good vibes our way. THANK YOU!

Our Conception Story
After eight years together we were pretty sure we'd spend our life with our four legged kids, doing lots of camping, and traveling the world. On August 12, 2004 that all changed with the birth of our God Daughter Tate. We immediately fell completely in love with her and soon began to re-think our decision of not having kids.
In October 2005 we began the process of trying to conceive. As soon as we started trying Shelly began having very erratic cycles which made the process that more complicated. After four tries over six months we decided to schedule a consultation with the a Reproductive Specialist. We were desperate to conceive and on a limited time frame since Shelly had just turned 41. Dee was 35 at the time but not able to conceive due to a medical procedure.
Our first appointment with the Repro Man was May 2006. He suggested we try IVF using Dee's eggs and Shelly as the gestational mother. He felt this scenario would give us the highest chance for success of a healthy pregnancy. We spent a short amount of time weighing our options and decided this was the best choice. We began our first IVF cycle in August. They did the Egg Retrieval and Fertilization on 8/31. Three days later, 9/3, they transferred three embryos into Shelly. Then the wait began.
Shelly promised not to begin the home pregnancy test too soon. Dee had to travel out of state for business a week after the transfer and asked Shelly to please wait to test. BUT, the wait was too much for her and she started testing after a week. At first there was no line. But after a couple of days testing a faint line started to appear. When Dee came home from her trip Shelly told her, "I know I'm pregnant." Dee didn't believe her and insisted the line wasn't dark enough so she tested herself to compare. There was absolutely no line. She began to believe Shelly was pregnant but still had doubt. Dee went to the store and bought another brand of testing strips. After five home tests, we were convinced we we're pregnant due to all positive results. A blood test at two weeks confirmed it; we were going to have a baby!

I am so over the moon happy for you two! Congrats on a wonderful and amazing Tuesday. And laugh, laugh, laugh! Laughter is always the best medicine for anything that ails you. :)
I went to bed and still no update from you guys. I literaly woke up in the middle of the night worried. So here it is 2 am and I am online checking! I am so happy to hear that all went well! What great news! And now less than two weeks to go....are you ready?? Only one more tuesday to get thru, right??
And that is great that you have started all sorts of paperwork and attornies...we have yet to do that. Which means we will be going to the hospital with some sort of scribbled out temporary plan on a cocktail napkin or something!
If Riley is dropping, does hat mean that shell is feeling better? I hear that once that happnes, you can breath easier and eat more again and just feel better in general!
I'm so glad that you laughed through a Tuesday. You only have 1 more Tuesday to have to get through.
11 more days !
P.S. I would love to be on your phone tree. Please make sure Amy is armed with ALL of the answers that I will most definitely have :)
Weight, length, time, who she looks like, how everyone felt, did you guys cry, did you get to hold her, what did the hygroma look like, what the doctors said about it, hows Shelly, when can we see her ? Did I miss anything ? If so, arm her with those answers as well :) ha ha
That's wonderful!!! laugh is the best medicine! :o)
Whooo... few more days!!!!!
It's coming so soon!!!
Wow! I'm so glad that the day went well...Salmon tacos? sounds yummy.
As far as the hospital bag goes, you could never have too much stuff. Our house was 30 minutes away from the hospital and I just never wanted to leave, even to go home for a change of clothes. Make sure you pack toiletries, underwear, socks and outfits. I forgot enough daily contact lenses.
Also, I wore crappy shoes when Lois delivered and really wished I had worn sneakers. My legs were tired from not wearing something comfortable and being in this standing/stressed position.
And, you will probably laugh at this, I brought some organic stuff that is similar to Vicks vapor rub. Hospital air is dry but makes you stuffy.
Is that enough?!?!
We're thinking about you. Andrew keeps asking US about when Riley is going to get here!!!
tick...tock....tick....tock.....
ooooh i can't wait!
love ya girl!
I LOVE this site. I can come here and remember all of the excitement, and remember how niave I really was. Just a few more days.
Ladies, for me it is like watching and earthquake that I've already lived through about to happen. The first 2 weeks, gosh, just hang on. Take as many pictures as you can, and really, sleep when you get it.
Hugs and I can't wait!

Laughter and good news on a Tuesday is fantastic!
Riley is excited that Riley is coming soon...
Should be amazing to see similarities like we did with Andrew. It's amazes us everyday that somehow there is a connection.
Hello from Canada
I came acros your site a few months ago and have visited often. Last Tuesday while I was getting ready for work, I realized that it was "Tuesday" and you would have more appointments today. (Yes, I do have a full life but your story has touched my heart in more ways than I can say.) I don't even know you but I was praying to myself that this Tuesay would be a better day for you. You gals are amazing. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and check back again hoping to see a picture of your little Riley.
Good Luck
Nine day! NINE days! You are in the single digits!!!!
