We started Riley's room today!
We HAD chosen Baby Bee Yellow. We'd cut in all of the corners and started the first coat on one of the walls and realized it was just TOO bright. We had thought it was a soft, muted yellow. NOT! So, back I went to Home Depot. This time I came home with a color called Clam Chowder. It's perfect! If any of you are familiar with Stampin' Up! colors it matches, almost exactly, So Saffron! That's great news for me as it makes it much easier for me to match colors when making paper craft decorations for her room.
Yesterday I went shopping! I bought some of the wood pieces I need for her room. The main thing I got was the wood block letters for her name. They're such a cute cut (font)! I'll hopefully be able to start painting and decorating the letters next week. Some of you may be wondering what in the world I'm talking about. Below are pictures of the BOO I did at Halloween. I'm doing the same thing with Riley's name but of course the colors won't be orange, black, green and purple.
We get our new fridge and stove tomorrow! Yippee!

I spent some time last night catching up on your blog and I have to say, I am SO glad you are starting Riley's room. I think it's hugely important. Riley is your daughter. Your child. No matter what may or may not happen. She deserves to be celebrated and I'm thrilled for you that you are finally letting yourself block out the doctors voices and celebrate your daughter!
Clam chowder sounds like it would be a great color. And a big congrats on the new fridge and stove. I always say that I know for sure that I'm a grown up when new appliances make me happy! :)
Lovin the Boo sign.
Did you use paper or is it material.
I'm super glad that you were able to match her room up with stampin up (said very sarcastically)
Only you Dee :)
We want to come Saturday just to see all of your new stuff ie..bed, stove, fridge, paint, boo sign :)
P.S. Did I ever tell you how hard I laughed at the song on my blog. That was DAMN funny.
Casey:Thank you for your comments. We agree! It's time to celebrate her. She may still be in the womb but she's already on this earth. No more waiting!
Karen: I love to make things on wood letters. Like the Boos sign. I painted the letters black. Then modge podged different paper on the letters. I then finish it off with some accessories and ribbon. I can't wait to get Riley's done. Oh, I'm glad you loved the song. It cracked me up thinking about it. Since then I can't get the damn song out of my head! Shelly's about read to knock me down!
I'm so exciting for you! Hope you will post pictures of Riely's new room.
LOVE stampin' up! Ok, so from what you just explained, I think I am going to LOVE Riley's room :))))
yellow...yah well...I had a feng shui expert tell me that my "buttercup yellow" guest bedroom had to be repainted at ONCE simply because the color yellow vibrated too much energy for one to feel comfortable in a room. humph.
i repainted to plain ol' white at once...much to my utter dismay. since then, i haven't decided what color to go with so it has remained plain old borin white. my "since then" guests have commented on how much they miss the yellow. lol
i love yellow, but OK, whatever. :) i DO love the color you have decided on for riley's room. so great! can't wait to see the final pics : )
p.s. - sorry to be MIA so long on my blog. i so love you for being worried about me. : ) mwah!
Cool I can't wait to see pictures!
